Cloud Backup

PUM Companion lets you keep your adventures safe and always accessible by backing up your games to Google Drive. This feature is perfect for playing across multiple devices, sharing your stories, and protecting your progress from loss.

Why Use Cloud Backup?

  • Never lose your progress: Your games are safely stored in the cloud, even if you lose or change your device.
  • Play anywhere: Start a game on one device and continue on another—your saves are always up to date.
  • Easy sharing: Send your adventures to friends or move them between your own devices with just a few taps.

Setting Up Cloud Backup

  1. Open Application Settings:
    • Go to the Main Menu and tap the settings (gear) icon.
  2. Find Cloud Sync:
    • Look for the Cloud Sync or Google Drive section.
  3. Connect Your Google Account:
    • Tap “Connect” and sign in with your Google account.
    • Authorize PUM Companion to access your Drive. This is required for backup and restore.
  4. Enable Cloud Backup:
    • Turn on auto-save to cloud for automatic protection, or use manual upload/download as needed.

How to Use Cloud Backup

Automatic Cloud Saving

  • When auto-save to cloud is enabled, your game is backed up to Google Drive every time you save or make changes.
  • You don’t need to do anything extra—just play as usual and your progress is protected.

Manual Upload and Download

  • Upload:
  • From the Main Menu or game settings, choose “Upload to Cloud” to back up your current game immediately.
  • Download:
  • On a new device, or after reinstalling the app, connect your Google account and tap “Download from Cloud” to restore your games.
  • Status:
  • Check the Application Settings to see the status of your last cloud backup and confirm everything is up to date.

Playing Across Multiple Devices

Cloud backup makes it easy to play your adventures on any device you own:

  1. Set up Cloud Backup on all devices:
    • On each device, connect the same Google account in Application Settings > Cloud Sync.
  2. Upload your game from your main device:
    • Make sure your latest progress is saved and uploaded to the cloud.
  3. Download your game on another device:
    • Open PUM Companion, connect your Google account, and download your saves from the cloud.
  4. Continue your adventure:
    • Your game will appear in the Main Menu, ready to play from where you left off.

Tip: Always upload your latest progress before switching devices to avoid missing any changes.

Sharing Saves with Friends

Want to share your story or collaborate? Cloud backup makes it simple:

  1. Upload your game to the cloud.
  2. Share the save file:
    • Export your game and send the file to your friend (via email, cloud storage, etc.), or let them access it via Google Drive if you share the file directly.
  3. Your friend imports the save:
    • They can import the file into their own PUM Companion app and continue the adventure.

Best Practices for Cloud Saves

  • Always connect the same Google account on all your devices to keep your saves in sync.
  • Upload your game before switching devices to ensure you have the latest version everywhere.
  • Check backup status regularly in Application Settings to confirm your saves are up to date.
  • Use both cloud and local exports for maximum safety—cloud for convenience, local for extra backup.
  • Keep your internet connection stable during uploads and downloads to avoid incomplete saves.
  • If you play on multiple devices at once, always upload your progress before switching, and download the latest save before playing.

Troubleshooting & Tips

  • If you don’t see your latest game on another device, make sure you uploaded it from your main device and downloaded it on the new one.
  • If you change your Google account, reconnect in Application Settings to restore access to your cloud saves.
  • For large games or slow connections, uploads and downloads may take a little longer—wait for the status to confirm completion.
  • If you ever have issues, exporting a local backup is a good safety net.
